In our thirty-ninth issue, we feature award-winning Uruguayan author Fernanda Trías, whose novels and short stories have earned her recognition as an essential voice of contemporary Latin American literature, in a cover dossier including an exclusive interview and an excerpt from Trías’s Pink Slime in translation by Heather Cleary. We also look back in time and outside the limits of Latin America with a dossier dedicated to the new volume by Braulio Fernández Biggs, Robert Southwell: Jesuita, poeta y mártir, the first book ever written in Spanish on the life and legacy of Robert Southwell, the sixteenth-century priest and poet whose impact on English literature can still be felt to this day.
