Guillermo Romero is a Lecturer in Spanish at the University of Oklahoma. Born and raised in Colombia, Guillermo earned his undergraduate degree in Psychology from the Universidad de la Sabana (Bogotá, Colombia). He holds an MA in Spanish Literatures from the University of Arkansas and a PhD in Latin American Literatures with a minor in Latin American History from the University of Oklahoma. His research focuses on the representation of trans-political violence in twentieth- and twenty-first-century Latin American narrative. His research interests include Latin American history and politics, Latin American cultural studies, Latin American detective fiction, Latin American cinema, contemporary Colombian narrative, and post-dictatorial narratives in the Latin American Southern Cone.
