Maureen Shaughnessy

Maureen Shaughnessy translated a collection of stories, The Scent of Buenos Aires by Hebe Uhart (Archipelago Books, 2019), which was longlisted for the 2020 PEN translation prize and co-translated a novel by Sara Gallardo, Enero, (forthcoming from Archipelago in 2023), with Frances Riddle. Her translation of Nurit Kasztelan’s poems was published by Cardboard House Press in 2020, and many other shorter translations have been published in journals such as The Paris Review, Brick, AGNI, World Literature Today, The Antioch Review, Latin American Literature Today, Words Without Borders, The Brooklyn Rail, and Asymptote. She was born in Oregon (USA) and now lives in Bariloche, Argentina.
