Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Cristina Ferreira Pinto-Bailey is a writer, scholar, and translator. Her scholarly work and literary translations appear in Review: Literature and Arts of the Americas, Symposium: A Quarterly Journal in Modern Literatures, Afro-Hispanic Review, and other venues. She is the translator of Maria Firmina dos Reis’s 1859 abolitionist novel Ursula (Tagus, 2021) and of Ignácio de Loyola Brandão’s Teeth Under the Sun (Dalkey Archive, 2007).
