Andrea Álvarez Mujica is a journalist, writer, and editor. She was born in Buenos Aires on January 31, 1966. She is the cofounder of Hormigas Negras press, where she published the novels Los novios muertos (2016) and La vida es extraña (2021) and the books of music journalism Horas de rock (2017, expanded edition in 2023) and Estelares, detrás de las canciones (2022). Under the pseudonym of Vera Land, she published her first novel, Tu maquillaje de fuga se evapora con la luz (Ediciones B, 2002). As co-author with Enrique Symns, she wrote the biographies Los tres, la última canción (Aguilar, 2002) and Páez (Espasa Calpe, 1996). She was editor of the magazines Cerdos & Peces, La Maga, Fin de Siglo, The Clinic, and Mavirock, among others. She leads literary workshops and was part of the literary workshops of Juan Forn. She reviews books for the radio show Cosa de negros.
