Alejandra Rogante holds two degrees in Translation (English><Spanish) and a postgraduate diploma in Translation Pedagogy. She has worked as a freelance translator for thirty years, mainly in the fields of education, cultural studies, and literary criticism. She is a translation professor and tutor, and co-author of Cuatro tramas: Orientación para leer, escribir, traducir y revisar, sponsored by Fondo Nacional de las Artes, the Argentine arts trust. She has participated in the renowned Escuela de Otoño de Traducción Literaria in Buenos Aires and in the British Centre for Literary Translation Summer School at the University of East Anglia in the UK. As an author of short stories, she has been tutored by Argentine writers Inés Fernández Moreno and Félix Bruzzone. A steadfast advocate for the rights of translators, she has served as president (pro bono) of the Argentine Association of Translators and Interpreters (AATI).
