Martín Kohan teaches literary theory at the University of Buenos Aires and has been writing since the early nineties, producing eleven novels, ten essay collections, and a handful of short story collections. In 2007 he received the Premio Herralde de Novela for Ciencias morales, a novel of abuse, power, and secrecy set in a Buenos Aires high school during the eighties of the Videla dictatorship.
