Manuel Iris (1983) is a Mexican poet living in the United States. He is the current poet laureate of the city of Cincinnati, Ohio. He received the Mérida national poetry prize (Mexico, 2009) for his book Cuaderno de sueños [Notebook of dreams], and the Rodulfo Figueroa regional poetry prize for his book Los disfraces del fuego [The disguises of fire]. His first bilingual book, Traducir el silencio/Translating Silence, was published in New York, and won awards in two different categories of the International Latino Book Awards in Los Angeles, California in 2018.
