Gustavo Guerrero (Caracas, 1957) is professor of contemporary Hispano-American literature and culture at CY Cergy Paris Université, as well as Spanish, Portuguese, and Latin American editor for Gallimard press. He is author of the verse collections La sombra de otros sueños (1982) and Círculo del adiós (2005) and of several essay collections, including Historia de un encargo: La catira de Camilo José Cela (2008), for which he won the XXXVI Premio Anagrama de Ensayo, and more recently Paisajes en movimiento, literatura y cambio cultural entre dos siglos (2018). He edited of Conversación con la intemperie (2008), a selection of twentieth-century Venezuelan poetry, Cuerpo plural, antología de la poesía hispanoamericana contemporánea (2010), and Les bonnes nouvelles de l’Amérique latine, anthologie de la nouvelle latino-américaine contemporaine (2010). He was visiting professor at Princeton University in 2009 and 2010, at Cornell University in 2014, and at the University of Bern in 2018. He currently directs the project Mediación editorial, difusión y traducción de la literatura latinoamericana en Francia (MEDET LAT) at the École Normale Supérieure of Paris and is co-director of the projects Poetry in Notions: Online Critical Compendium of Lyric of the Swiss National Science Foundation and Cultural Production: Literature and Cinema of the Paris-Seine Initiative for Excellence.
