Carlos Aníbal Alonso (Havana, 1987) is an editor, researcher, and literary critic. He earned his undergraduate degree in Letters from the Universidad de La Habana and his master’s in Education on Literary Studies from the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro. Along with Pablo Argüelles Acosta, he prepared the compilation Virgilio Piñera al borde de la ficción (Editorial UH / Editorial Letras Cubanas, 2015), which earned the Premio Nacional de la Crítica Literaria in Cuba. He has taught literature and literary theory at the Universidad de La Habana and the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro. He is currently completing a doctorate in Letters at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). He is the founder and director of Rialta, an organization based in Mexico that encompasses several media outlets dedicated to cultural matters.
