George Henson is a translator of contemporary Latin American prose. His book-length translations include works by Cervantes laureates Elena Poniatowska and Sergio Pitol, as well as books by Luis Jorge Boone and Alberto Chimal. His translation of Pitol’s novel The Love Parade was published in January 2022, with the novels Taming the Divine Heron and Married Life, also by Pitol, scheduled for publication in 2023. His translation of Abel Posse’s memoir A Long Day in Venice is due out in August with Betimes Books. He is a contributing editor for World Literature Today and the translation editor-at-large for Latin American Literature Today. He is a 2021–2023 Tulsa Artist Fellow.
