Francisca Noguerol

Francisca Noguerol is a professor of Hispano-American Literature in the Department of Philology of the University of Salamanca. She has taught at various other American and European universities in the United States, Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, France, Italy, and Germany. She earned her doctorate with a thesis on Augusto Monterroso, one fruit of which was her book La trampa en la sonrisa: sátira en la narrativa de Augusto Monterroso (1995; second edition in 2000). She has also participated as an author and editor in ten other monographs. She is the author of 190 research papers, published in Spanish and international journals, which manifest her interest in the most innovative aesthetic movements, from historical avant-gardes to recent poetry and narrative, cultural imaginaries, relationships between image and literature, and hybrid genres.
