Sofía Yáñez is a literary translator from English into Spanish from Buenos Aires, Argentina. She works as a freelance translator, specializing in literary and audiovisual translation as well as video game localization. She received a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts (FNA) to research nineteenth-century English-speaking women poets and translate an anthology of their work. She earned a BA in Literary and Technical-Scientific Translation at the I.E.S. en Lenguas Vivas “J.R. Fernández.” She was also a graduate teaching assistant to the Literary Translation I chair at the E.N.S. en Lenguas Vivas “S.B. de Spangenberg.”
