Manuel Broncano is Regents Professor of English and Director of English and Spanish programs at Texas A&M International. He served as President of the International American Studies Association (2015 to 2019). He is Vice-President of HispaUSA (Association for the Study of Hispanic Peoples in the United States). He is the author of Religion in Cormac McCarthy's Fiction: Apocryphal Borderlands (Routledge). Besides his scholarship in literary studies, Dr. Broncano is also a translator. Amazon Crossing published his translation of Giannina Braschi’s United States of Banana (Estados Unidos de Banana). He is currently translating Giannina Braschi’s new book, Putinoika.
