Carolina Depetris is a full-time researcher at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and a member of Mexico’s Sistema Nacional de Investigadores. Her books include Aporética de la muerte: Estudio crítico sobre Alejandra Pizarnik (Madrid: UAM ediciones, 2004), La escritura de los viajes (Mexico City: UNAM, 2007), El héroe involuntario. Frédéric de Waldeck y su viaje por Yucatán (Mexico City: UNAM, 2014), and El velo de Sócrates: Relaciones entre literatura y filosofía (Mexico City: UNAM, 2020). She has edited and co-edited several volumes and published many articles in academic and popular journals. She is the author of the verse collections De consolaciones y otras crueldades (Mexico City: Scripta, 2003) and Pequeño mal (Mexico City: Libros Magenta, 2014). She directs the “Viajeros” Collection of the CEPHCIS publishing program and the Biblioteca Digital Viajeros. Her research focuses on the relationships between literature and philosophy and travel literature.
