A career diplomat, Abel Posse grew up in Buenos Aires, studied in France, and has spent years living in Moscow, Venice, Paris, Israel, Prague, Lima, Copenhagen and Madrid. He is the author of various novels, short stories, and poems, and has received prestigious awards such as the Premio Internacional de Novela Rómulo Gallegos and the Premio de la Academia Argentina de las Letras. His work has been translated into more than fifteen languages. He is considered one of the three founding fathers of the “new historical novel,” along with Carpentier and Vargas Llosa. He is a regular contributor to the newspaper La Nación and Spanish journals such as El País, El Mundo, and ABC.
