Nicolás Pérez Ferretti

Letícia Goellner is a professor in the Translation Program of the Facultad de Letras of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and director of the UC’s online Diploma in Literary Translation. She holds a doctorate in Translation Studies from the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Brazil. She completed postdoctoral studies in Translation Studies with an emphasis on Literary Translation at the Universidade de Brasília, Brazil. She has recently coordinated a number of literary translation projects that have received support from different institutions, including: Chile’s Ministerio de las Culturas, las Artes y el Patrimonio, Línea de Apoyo a la Traducción; the Dirección de Artes y Cultura of the Vicerrectoría de Investigación (VRI) of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile; and the embassies of Colombia in Chile and Brazil. She has undertaken various translation projects involving Brazilian literature, including works spanning different genres and authors, including: Monteiro Lobato (children’s literature), Lima Barreto (“pre-modernist” Brazilian chronicles), Paulo Henriques Britto (theories of literary translation), Mário de Andrade (poems, short stories, chronicles, and essays of Brazilian modernism), and Júlia Lopes de Almeida on feminism with the translation of chronicles by this Brazilian writer. Her areas of focus and interest are: Translation Theory and Studies; Translation and Gender; Translation of Latin American Literature; and collective translation of literary texts.
