Mauricio Electorat

Tired of the Pinochet regime, Mauricio Electorat dropped out of his courses in Journalism and Literature at the Universidad Nacional de Chile and moved to Barcelona, where he earned a degree in Hispanic Philology as he started writing and worked as a reader for publishing houses. In 1987, he moved to Paris, where he worked as a translator until 2005, when he returned to Santiago de Chile, where he now works as a professor of Literature at the Universidad Diego Portales and a columnist for El Mercurio.
