Mario Barrero Fajardo received his undergraduate degree in Philosophy and Letters at the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia in 1995 and his doctorate in Spanish and Hispano-American Literature at the Universidad de Salamanca in Salamanca, Spain in 2009. He is now associate professor in the Department of Humanities and Literature of the Universidad de los Andes, where he has worked since August 2008. He was editor of Perífrasis: Revista de Literatura, Teoría y Crítica from 2010 to 2014, and is author of Maqroll y compañía (Ediciones Uniandes, 2012) and Un viaje a la “tierra caliente” de Álvaro Mutis (Ediciones Uniandes, 2020) and compiler of La heteronimia poética y sus variaciones trasatlánticas (Ediciones Uniandes, 2013).
