Margarita García Robayo

Margarita García Robayo (Cartagena, Colombia) is the author of the novels Hasta que pase un huracán, Lo que no aprendí, and Educación Sexual, compiled as El sonido de las olas; the novel Tiempo muerto, translated as Holiday Heart, winner of an English PEN Award; several books of short stories, including Cosas peores, winner of the Casa de las Américas Prize; and the books of essays Primera persona and El Afuera. Her book Fish Soup, an English-language compilation of her stories and novels, formed part of The Times’ prestigious “Books of the Year” list. Her latest novel is titled La encomienda (Anagrama, 2022) / The Delivery (Charco Press, 2023). Her work has been translated to English, French, Portuguese, Italian, Hebrew, Turkish, Icelandic, Danish, and Chinese, among other languages. She lives in Buenos Aires.
