Liliam Ramos

Liliam Ramos is a Latin American scholar, woman, and professor of Literature and Latin American Studies at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). She has translated the books Memória de mim by Cuban poet Teresa Cárdenas and Textos selecionados (essays) by Dominican philosopher Yuderkis Espinosa Miñoso. The publishing house Figura de Linguagem in Porto Alegre will publish both volumes in August and December 2021. In her classes and daily life, Liliam teaches to decolonize our society, focusing on the alternative epistemologies expressed by Latin American writers. She studies Afro-Latin American Literature, translating and elaborating didactic materials devoted to supporting Black cultures and fictions in elementary education.
