Leonardo Valente (Rio de Janeiro, 1974) is a writer, journalist, and professor of International Relations. He has published four novels and an anthology, including: Apoteose, an anthology of short stories (2017), selected for the final phase of the Sesc Literature Prize; O Beijo da Pombagira (2019), finalist novel for the Rio Literature Prize; Calote (2020), winner of the Julia Lopes de Almeida Prize from the Brazilian Union of Writers (UBE); and D’s Cryogenics or a Manifesto for Lost Pleasures (2021), his most successful novel, translated into Spanish and published in Argentina, Uruguay, and Chile, to be published in Portugal in 2023, and adapted for the theatre.
