José Ignacio Padilla (Lima, 1975) studied at the Universidad de San Marcos and earned his doctorate in Latin American Literature from Princeton University (2008). He was editor of the magazine more ferarum (1998-2002), as well as collections in homage to César Moro and Jorge Eduardo Eielson. He has published critical essays on poetry in journals such as Hueso húmero and Revista de Crítica Literaria Latinoamericana. In 2014, he published El terreno en disputa es el lenguaje: Ensayos sobre poesía latinoamericana, from Iberoamericana/Vervuert. In 2021, he published two books from Meier Ramírez Press: Se dicen cosas: conversaciones sobre poesía and El poema se derrite: charlas y notas sobre poesía. He lives in Madrid, where he works as a bookseller.
