Inmaculada Lergo (Seville, 1957) is a writer, literary critic, and editor. She studied Geography and History as well as Philology, earning her doctorate in Hispanic Philology. She is a corresponding member of the Peruvian Academy of the Language. She specializes in Peruvian and Hispano-American literature, and has published writing about Carlos Germán Belli, César Vallejo, Magda Portal, and Rosa Arciniega, among other authors. Her published books include the poetry collection El cuerpo del veneno (2020) and the autofictional story El silencio de las jacarandas (2023). She directs the magazine Entorno literario and contributes to Mediodía, Clarín, Sibila, and Palimpsesto, among other publications. She has been on the juries of various literary prizes, including the Cervantes Prize in 2014. She has taught classes at secondary schools, at the University of Seville, and at the University of Piura, Peru. The photograph included with her credit shows her with Peruvian poet Carlos Germán Belli in his home in Lima in 2016.
