Guillermo Cerceau

Guillermo Cerceau (San Luis, Argentina, 1957) is a writer and lecturer. He has lived outside his country since 1973, primarily in Venezuela, the United States, Belgium, and the Netherlands. He has published several books of short essays, including Equivalencias, Teoría de las despedidas, and Oculta tu rostro. In recent years, he has produced a series of lecture-speeches on various aspects of image theory, encompassing both the still and the moving image; these include Mutaciones de cuerpo femenino, Fotografía e inteligencia artificial, and La imagen cinematográfica y la creación en Gilles Deleuze. His most recent books are Fotografías imaginadas y otros encuadres (Caobo, 2019), a personal meditation on the meaning of photography, and Sobre lugares comunes y otras verdades (2021).
