Mariana Mata

Mariana Mata is a junior at St. Mary’s University double-majoring in International/Global Studies and Spanish. She was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. Mariana has a great passion for sociolinguistics, especially focusing on Spanish heritage speakers. She hopes to continue her research and translations in order to share important stories written by Indigenous authors with a wider and more diverse audience.
