Wilfredo Hernández

Wilfredo Hernández (Porlamar, Venezuela, 1963) teaches Spanish at Allegheny College, Pennsylvania, where he is currently chair of the World Languages and Cultures department. He holds an undergraduate degree in Modern Languages from the Universidad Central de Venezuela as well as a master’s and a doctorate in Hispanic Literatures from the University of Connecticut. He has published on Rómulo Gallegos, Armando Rojas Guardia, Eugenio Montejo, Isaac Chocrón, and Elio Palencia. His articles and reviews have appeared in academic journals in Colombia, the United States, and Venezuela. He has also published chapters in edited volumes from university presses in the United States and the Netherlands. From 2022 to 2024, he worked as book reviews director of the Revista Iberoamericana.
