Ricardo Sumalavia

Ricardo Sumalavia (Lima, Peru, 1968) earned his doctorate in Letters from the Universidad de Burdeos. He is the author of the short story collections Habitaciones (1993) and Retratos familiares (2001), the books of flash fiction Enciclopedia mínima (2004), Enciclopedia plástica (2016), and Enciclopedia vacía: El gran sueño (2024), and the novels Que la tierra te sea leve (2008), Mientras huya el cuerpo (2012), No somos nosotros (2017), Historia de un brazo (2019), and Croac y el nuevo fin del mundo (2022). He is currently director of the Centro de Estudios Orientales and correspondent of the Cátedra Mario Vargas Llosa at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú.
