María Paulina Briones

María Paulina Briones (Guayaquil, 1974) studied Literature at the Universidad Católica de Guayaquil. She holds an MA in Editing from the University of Salamanca, an MA in Advanced Studies in Spanish and Latin American Literature from the University of Barcelona, and an MA in Creative Writing from the University of La Rioja. Her book Tratado de los bordes o la cercenación del estero won the Ismael Pérez Pazmiño National Poetry Award. She founded the press Cadáver Exquisito in 2012 and the bookstore and cultural space La Casa Morada in 2009. She teaches at the University of the Arts in Guayaquil.
