Gabriel Payares

Gabriel Payares (London, United Kingdom, 1982) is a Venezuelan writer, educator, translator, and cultural manager. He is the author of three books of short stories whose contents have received several awards in Venezuela, appear in various anthologies and literary publications, and have recently been translated into English. He earned his undergraduate degree in Letters (UCV) and master’s degrees in Latin American Literature (USB) as well as Creative Writing (Untref). He is a frequent contributor to the dailies El Nacional (Venezuela), Clarín (Argentina), and El País (Spain). In 2020, he was selected for the international writing program of Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU). Since 2014, he has lived in Buenos Aires.
