Elisa Lerner

Elisa Lerner (Valencia, 1932) is a Venezuelan-Jewish author, playwright, literary journalist, and diplomat. Her major works include the stage plays Vida con mamá and En el vasto silencio de Manhattan, the essay Yo amo a Columbo, and the books of literary journalism Carriel para la fiesta and Crónicas ginecológicas. In 1999, she was awarded Venezuela’s National Prize for Literature.
