Diana Bellessi

Diana Bellessi was born in Zavalla, Argentina, in 1946. She has authored sixteen books of poetry, two essay collections, and seven translations of contemporary women poets from the USA, Brazil, and Portugal. Her poetry has been translated into English, French, and German. Her poetic and literary production has been nationally and internationally acknowledged with prestigious grants and awards such as the Guggenheim Fellowship (1993), the Konex Award (2004, 2014, 2024), the XXXII “Ciudad de Melilla” International Poetry Award (Spain, 2010), and her appointment as Poet Laureate of Argentina in 2011, to mention just a few.
