Claudia Sierich

Claudia Sierich (Caracas, 1963) lives between Berlin and Caracas as an author, conference interpreter (aiic.net, Ginebra), and licensed translator in Munich. She took postgraduate courses in Latin American Literature at the Universidad Simón Bolívar. Between 2008 and 2013 she developed a new format in Venezuela: the multilingual traficantesdepalabras festival, which gave rise to lenguas en poesía. From 2008 to 2014 she was a collaborator of the Festival de Poesía Latinoamericana de Viena, and since 2014 she has worked with the Berlin-based bilingual print journal albamagazin.de. She is a member of the board of the Freunde des Iberoamerikanischen Instituts (Berlin). She has published many literary translations in several genres, both to and from German. Among her books are Imposible de Lugar (Monte Ávila Ed., 2008, winner of the Premio de Poesía de Autores Inéditos Monte Ávila and honorable mention for the Premio de Poesía Municipal , 2010), dicha la dádiva (Equinoccio, 2012), and Sombra de Paraíso (ot editores, 2015). claudiasierich.com
