Arturo Fontaine

Arturo Fontaine is a Chilean novelist, poet, and essayist whose work explores the intersections of politics, memory, and identity. A professor of philosophy at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez and the Universidad de Chile, he also serves on the board of the Museum of Memory and Human Rights and is a member of the Chilean Academy of Language. He has published ten books, including novels, poetry, and essays. La vida doble: A Novel was translated by Megan McDowell and published by Yale University Press in 2014. His latest novel, Y entonces Teresa, was published by Catalonia in Chile in 2024.
