{"id":43386,"date":"2025-11-02T14:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-11-02T20:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/latinamericanliteraturetoday.org\/?p=43386"},"modified":"2025-11-30T16:48:00","modified_gmt":"2025-11-30T22:48:00","slug":"una-carta-a-christopher-dominguez-michael","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/latinamericanliteraturetoday.org\/es\/2025\/11\/una-carta-a-christopher-dominguez-michael\/","title":{"rendered":"Una carta a Christopher Dom\u00ednguez Michael"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Caracas, 15 de octubre de 1997<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Christopher Dom\u00ednguez Michael<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Revista <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vuelta<br \/>\n<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">M\u00e9xico, D.F.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Estimado amigo:<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le escribo porque recientemente termin\u00e9 de leer <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tiros en el concierto<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, uno de los libros de la segunda mitad de la <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Literatura mexicana del siglo V <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">que realmente m\u00e1s me ha impresionado.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apenas empec\u00e9 a hojearlo, leer el \u00edndice de autores y temas que no desconozco del todo, detenerme en algunos pasajes y ver el sistema (todo un arte) de las citas, sent\u00ed inmediatamente que iba a interesarme. Pero no sab\u00eda hasta qu\u00e9 punto. Pensaba en una lectura placentera, de las que leo con frecuencia del autor. El libro ideal que iba a deleitarme aprendiendo, en medio de los malestares de una convalecencia posoperatoria, de la cual a\u00fan me resiento.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pero este libro no hizo sino perturbarme. Apenas le\u00ed de un tir\u00f3n los dos primeros cap\u00edtulos (Reyes y, sobre todo, Vasconcelos), sent\u00ed que algo m\u00e1s intenso y dram\u00e1tico, a\u00fan oscuro, ten\u00eda entre mis manos.\u00a0 Salt\u00e9 a las \u201cescenas del siglo V\u201d y luego a los \u201cContempor\u00e1neos, los enemigos de la promesa\u201d (helas) y no fue mucho el alivio.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cPues no sigas ley\u00e9ndolo por ahora\u201d, me dec\u00eda mi mujer, viendo que me desvelaba, como cuando me ve leer a Bloom y aun a Steiner. No era igual. Mi reacci\u00f3n no era pol\u00e9mica o en contra. Lo que sent\u00eda era que algo muy profundo (de los latinoamericanos) se estaba dilucidando en lo que le\u00eda.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No quiero dramatizar sombr\u00edamente mi lectura de su libro, pues creo que es lo m\u00e1s ajeno a sus intenciones. Su libro es como el (re)nacimiento de una verdadera conciencia cr\u00edtica en la literatura de toda nuestra lengua. Lo veo como un ejemplo de lucidez valiente y me conmueve en \u00e9l la inmensa comprensi\u00f3n y la piedad. Finalmente, es el placer tr\u00e1gico \u2014despu\u00e9s de una gran catarsis\u2014 lo que nos deja.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As\u00ed que le agradezco mucho el que me haya hecho enviar su libro, lo que considero como una distinci\u00f3n de amistad. Cu\u00eddese despu\u00e9s de tan largo esfuerzo, y cuide su alma.
